Our Board of Directors

Our Board

As a Not-for-profit organisation, Adventure Patch has a dedicated, voluntary Board of Directors who determine the strategic direction of the service.

The Board engages a Chief Executive Officer to oversee day to day management and operations of the service.

The Board’s goal is to help Adventure Patch to foster the development of Tasmanian children by assisting the organisation and its families to grow and be nurtured in a supporting environment that emphasises learning through play.

JOIN THE BOARD

Adventure Patch is a community based not for profit organisation with a long and proud history of providing children’s services in the community.  The Board plays a significant role in monitoring and guiding the strategic growth of the organisation in the community we serve.

Serving on the Board as an effective director requires:

  • Your time – to prepare for, attend meetings and undertake relevant actions.
  • Active engagement in Board discussions and debates, including occasional electronic communication between meetings.
  • Be prepared to represent Adventure Patch.
  • Have an understanding of the services that Adventure Patch provides.
  • Be willing to develop skills in being an effective director.

Meeting frequency:

  • Monthly meetings for approximately two hours.
  • Annual Strategic plan review for approximately half a day, usually in conjunction with facilitated Board retreat.

As well as possessing attributes to be an effective director, we are particularly seeking potential directors with skills in the areas of accounting, finance and/or business development.

A director position enables Board members to enjoy further professional growth by having access to professional development opportunities. You will participate in an induction program and have access to training for new directors.

If you feel that you have the desire and qualities to serve on the Board, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible using the nomination form.

With over 25 years of experience across government, energy, and not-for-profit sectors, she’s known for her inclusive leadership, financial acumen, and ability to drive enterprise-wide change.

Currently serving as Chief Financial Officer at Blueline Laundry Inc.—a purpose-led Tasmanian social enterprise—Fiona leads finance, ICT, and sustainability functions, aligning governance with growth and inclusive employment. Her career highlights include steering the City of Hobart through financial recovery and system transformation, advising whole-of-government finance initiatives, and managing complex M&A and tax strategies at Hydro Tasmania.

A Fellow of CPA Australia and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Fiona brings integrity, empathy, and strategic foresight to every role. She’s a proud Tasmanian who volunteers her expertise to local boards and sporting organisations, and mentors emerging leaders through CPA and government networks.

Our Board

Jonno Bellette

Director
Jonno Bellette

Jonno lives in Kingston with his wife and two daughters, Nora and Hayley. A Kingborough resident for more than 10 years, Jonno developed a strong appreciation for the great work Adventure Patch does in the Tasmanian community — and its philosophy of fun, exploring and imagination — through Nora’s time at Mountain View Day Care.

He brings to the Board extensive experience in corporate strategy, financial management and risk management across a range of Tasmanian organisations, and looks forward to contributing to Adventure Patch’s ongoing success.

Our Board

Lynley Devereux

Director
Lynley Devereux

Lynley lives in sunny Sorell and is a proud parent of three adult children and grandparent to two young grandsons.

A retired teacher, Lynley taught primarily Foods and Childcare and held numerous leadership roles throughout her career, along with strong involvement in the community. One of the highlights of her career was teaching Certificate II in Community Services (Children’s Focus) at Elizabeth College. She often says she learned as much as her students, as the role required her to research, write assignments and teach childcare policies and procedures, ensuring all knowledge and performance elements were mastered. Running weekly playgroup sessions also gave students the opportunity to put their learning into practice, develop leadership skills and gain real-life experience. Many of her former students have gone on to careers in childcare, and she takes great joy in seeing how successful they have become.

This is Lynley’s first board appointment, and she is looking forward to contributing to Adventure Patch and welcoming the opportunity to be involved in the wider community.

Our Board

Kateryna Kiemele

Director
Kateryna Kiemele

Kateryna Kiemele is a long-time local and parent who has seen firsthand the warmth, care and sense of belonging that Adventure Patch brings to families. Her own children have flourished during their time with the organisation, and she has always admired how Adventure Patch fosters connection — not only for children, but for the broader community through its welcoming events and outdoor experiences.

With more than 20 years of experience in strategy, finance and commercial leadership within the energy sector, Kateryna brings a strong foundation in governance, risk management and stakeholder engagement.

She is excited to contribute these skills as a Board member and to support Adventure Patch in continuing to create meaningful, enriching experiences for children and families.

Nick Stowe

Director
Nick Stowe

Nick Stowe and his family have lived in Blackmans Bay for seven years, and his daughter Evie has been a regular attendee at Illawarra OSHC for the past three years.

Nick’s experience spans the hospitality and tourism, energy and fleet industries, with roles across sales and marketing, business development, finance and stakeholder engagement in both the public and private sectors. He currently works for a Tasmanian Government Business Enterprise in vehicle fleet management.

In his spare time, Nick enjoys a round of golf, time in the garden and beach trips with his family and their two labradors.

He looks forward to giving back to the Adventure Patch team and supporting the services that children and families rely on so heavily.
