Adventure Patch Community Pop Up Playground

Adventure Patch aims to provide community-based celebrations of play, in a community, public or school space, using ordinary natural or recycled materials. They allow children to create, imagine, and play as they see fit as well as offering great benefits for the environment and the physical and mental wellbeing of people.

Pop-up playgrounds are free temporary playgrounds stocked with all kinds of exciting materials (cardboard boxes, natural materials, found objects, rope, string, etc). The emphasis is on letting the children decide what they want to do with the materials. Sometimes children want to build, sometimes they want to play pretend, sometimes they want to tear apart and destroy. All play is welcome and encouraged so long as no one is getting hurt.

Every pop-up play event is slightly different based on the location, materials we provide and even the ages of the children that attend the event. All ages are welcome, but our target age group are children between the ages of 3 and 12.

Pop-up playgrounds gently introduce themes of risk and freedom by welcoming people of all ages and abilities to play together.

We do encourage adults to take a step back to allow children to freely explore and play.
